I've been busy diving (I will post some underwater pics later). But I've also been getting some knitting done. I pretty much finished my test footlet, it's too big and I need to neaten up the short row turns, but I have enough info now to plan out a real pair for my Sockapalooza pal. Here's the sock on the deck table in Grand Cayman:

I've also started the Fiddlesticks Peacock Feathers Shawl in Chocolate Brown Helen's Lace yarn. I'm half way thru the first chart and
of course it looks a crumpled mess! But it's a crumpled mess at the beach:

The Fiddlesticks pattern is very well written and the charts are large and very readable. The first chart is pretty easy so I'm hoping that I'm used to the fine yarn by the time I get to the more difficult knitting.
In Cayman we are waiting to see what Hurricane Emily decides to do. Right now it's completely calm.

The dive boats have been moved to a safe anchorage, and diving has been canceled for today and tomorrow. Emily continues to veer southward and we're all hoping it continues that trend.
One teaser scuba pic, my favorite of the week so far.

What a stunning underwater photo! And your partly finished, unblocked shawl looks perfect at the beach -- like some wild, lovely seaweed that washed up on shore.
Stay safe. At least while you're waiting for the storm to do its thing, you can knit!

Nice job on the test sock. Couldn't help but notice that it and the shawl match nicely with the other oceany colors in your pictures!
